Student Housing Phase 2

Scope: Sustainability Consulting (LEED for New Construction). The Student Housing Phase II is located in Zones 1 and 10 of Education City, Doha, Qatar. Female Student Housing site: A site area of 62,300m2 has been allocated for Phase II of the Female Student Housing beside a site area of 41,700m2 selected for the currently under construction Phase I Female Student Housing. An additional number of 400 female students will be provided with accommodation in ground+2 storey buildings along with other relevant buildings and services. A gross floor area of 26,683 m2 is envisaged for this student housing expansion. Male and Married Students site: A site area of 71,500m2 has been allocated for Phase II of the Male Student Housing beside a site area of 50,500m2 selected for the currently under construction Male Student Housing. An additional number of 300 male students and 200 married students will be provided with accommodation in Ground+2 storey buildings along with other relevant buildings and services. A gross floor area of 44,821 m2 is envisaged for this student housing expansion. Project LEED Objectives The scope of the sustainability consultant is to manage the project during design and construction stages in order to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System level of ‘Platinum’ as devised by the United States Green Building Council.
